The retro gaming community has been working hard to revamp the original Mega Man games for years now, with the first enhancement coming onto the scene back in 2019. Six years later, we've finally got all three original games improved and revamped with new features and graphics.
Weirdly, the hacks have come out in reverse order, with TheSkipper1995 releasing Mega Man 3 Revamped back in 2019 and Mega Man 2 Revamped in 2022. Now, DoodleDangernoodle, who contributed their talents to working on the graphics for Mega Man 3 Revamped, has released Mega Man Revamped just in time for a Mega 38th Anniversary celebration across the globe!
The new revamped version of the game sees graphical enhancements to the levels and character sprites to bring them on a par with the Mega Man games that came out later in the series, as well as rebalancing the overall difficulty. Weapons like the Hyper Bomb and Rolling Cutter have new behaviours, and lag has been reduced for a much more enjoyable gaming experience. The score system has also been done away with, leaving a polished and more refined version of the original game for gamers to dive into while still keeping the essence of the original title intact.
