Mario & Friends Are Taking To The Skies On a New Plane From Jet Blue

Mario & Friends Are Taking To The Skies On a New Plane From Jet Blue

I don't care how old you are, seeing a boat or a plane with characters on it is cool. I remember when I took my campervan to Sardinia and the ferry had Batman graphics on the side of it and a giant Batman statue in the reception area of the boat. Kids loved it, and it made them feel more at ease about going on a long journey, plus it's certainly something to see a gigantic Batman sailing away towards the horizon.

It's why I've always loved the Pokémon planes over at ANA; if you're a little bit afraid of flying, then seeing a big Charizard or a Pikachu on the side of a jet makes you, if only for a few moments, forget about that fear and think about something from your childhood that brought you joy instead, giving your loved ones enough time to get you into your seat with a strong glass of gin to help you along the way.

Jet Blue have followed the trend of making aviation more fun and nerdy by adding the Cloudtop Cruiser to their fleet, a plane named after the Mario Kart 8 track 'Cloudtop Cruise'. The side of the plane features Mario, Luigi, Peach, Yoshi, DK, and Bowser looking out of porthole-style windows, while the fin on the back of the plane reminds me of the Super Mario Flag at the end of each of the levels in the early games.

And if you are worried about air travel, then the Cloudtop Cruiser has Power Stars all the way around it. Come on, nothing's going to stop this powerhouse from getting to its destination with protection like that!
