I always like to keep my eyes peeled for outlandishly priced items on Heritage Auctions. It's mad to think that many of the video games that end up on here are games that I bought back in the 90s for £40. The only difference is that I played my games to death and treated the cardboard boxes as though they were extensions of my controller. I looked after them, don't get me wrong, but they certainly aren't scoring any points when it comes to grading.
There are lots of classic games and accessories coming to a close in 3 days in this latest listing, but it just so happens that four of our favourite, and four of the most influential titles to boot, are leading the charge with some price tags that will make your eyes water.
The Legend of Zelda for the NES, Super Mario 64, Mario Kart 64, and Pokémon Blue; four iconic titles, all sealed, and racking up a total pricetag of $91,500. And don't forget that's current, they're likely to go up in price too!
Current Bids
- The Legend of Zelda (Sealed): $32,000
- Super Mario 64 (Sealed): $27,000
- Pokémon Blue (Sealed): $17,000
- Mario Kart 64 (Sealed): $15,500

As you can see above, the gradings for these games are all above 9.8, with Super Mario 64 coming in at the lowest at a still insane score of 95. Because all four of these games are still sealed, they're essentially factory fresh - can you imagine the smell of those instruction booklets, the feeling of the game inserts as you pull them out of the box?
I'll be keeping a close eye on proceedings over the next couple of days and updating this article when the final bids are in. But if you do want to bid in the meantime, then head to the Heritage Auctions page now and get rid of that cash that's burning a hole in your pocket!
