An iconic arcade game of the 90's was Joe & Mac, a run and gun platform game developed by Data East with a prehitoric angle featuring dinosaurs, cave men and mammoths. It was unique in its own way with some very memorable characters and eventually made its way to SNES, NES, GAME BOY and SEGA Genesis a little later on.
Well, it's now back in physical form. Originally it launched on Kickstarter successfully obtaining a backing of over €36,000, but for those who missed this collection, made by Red Art Games in collaboration with developer G-Mode, then you're in luck, as they're opening pre-orders to the public.
Joe & Mac Retro Collection will be available on Nintendo Switch and PlayStation 5 in physical form, with the choice to choose from standard editions, deluxe editions and a collector's edition, which comes jam-packed with extra goodies such as a poster, badges, an acrylic stand, stickers and more, again for both Nintendo Switch and PS5. The standard and deluxes edition costs €39.99, and the collector's edition costs €69.99. The retro games included are:
• Joe & Mac Caveman Ninja: The original arcade hit that started it all. Rescue the village’s women from a gang of Neanderthals and face off against deadly dinos.
• Congo’s Caper: A wacky spin-off full of high-flying action, mischievous monkeys and even more prehistoric madness.
• Joe & Mac Lost in the Tropics: A tropical sequel where our heroes get new weapons, face new enemies and must defend the Tiki Village.

Keen Joe & Mac players will know there are a couple of great games missing, and some of the community are showing their opinions on social media regarding the lack of adding Joe & Mac 2, and the classic Joe & Mac Returns, which admittedly would have been a nice addition. But 3 is enough for many, and it can now be pre-ordered on Red Art Games official website, today.
There's also a couple of new features in this retro collection that will undoubtedly entice a few of you:
• "Boss Rush" mode: A new game mode exclusive to the Collection: prepare yourself to face bosses from each of the three games in the compilation one after the other, and challenge yourself to defeat them all the fastest you can!
• Local Two-player Co-op: Each player manages their own health, competing for meat and helping each other amidst the chaos.
