Samus Aran remains one of Nintendo's best characters. She's the best bounty hunter in any series by far but just doesn't get the credit she deserves. We had to wait 18 years between Metroid Prime 3 and 4, for crying out loud, yet Samus was instrumental in the success of the NES and SNES, with the early Metroid games helping to catapult Nintendo into being the superpower they are today.

The Metroid Prime games were some of the most played titles on my GameCube and Wii while I was a teenager, and it seems that LEGO Ideas creator Eth3r shares my love for them. Their set perfectly captures Samus' Varia Suit; everything about this design is spot on, from Samus' arm cannon to the Varia Suit's massive shoulders, right down to the colours of the individual pieces and her iconic visor.

Made from 2,400 pieces, this set has a moveable head, with posable arms, shoulders, hands, legs, and feet. It's more than just a LEGO set - this is a collectors piece, and gamers are already going crazy for it.

The final cool touch to this set is that there's a small side build for a Metroid Larva to attach to Samus as though it's floating above her. You can't have Samus without a Metroid now, can you?

The set appeared on the LEGO Ideas page yesterday (February 18th, 2026) and already has 335 supporters. To give you an idea of how good that is, sets have 60 days to reach 100 supporters and then get an extra 365 days to get to 1K. Eth3r only needed 1 day to get to the first milestone, and I reckon they'll be at the 1K mark before the week is out!
