Learning how to evolve Poliwhirl into Politoed in Pokemon Scarlet & Violet The Teal Mask is key to getting your hands on the greener side of this evolution line.
Poliwhirl, and the rest of the Poli-line makes its return with The Teal Mask, and that means one thing – adding another strong water type Pokemon to your party.
If you were going down the traditional evolution route, you’d be evolving Poliwhirl into Poliwrath, but Politoed offers a different option if you want to change things up.
But how is it done in Pokemon Scarlet & Violet?
Below we’ll take you through all of the necessary steps for evolving Poliwhirl into Politoed so you can secure this frog-like Pokemon for your party.
How to Evolve Poliwhirl into Politoed in Pokemon Scarlet & Violet The Teal Mask
To evolve Poliwhirl into Politoed in The Teal Mask, you’ll need to first acquire a King’s Rock. Once you do this, you can then give it your Poliwhirl to hold and subsequently trade the Pokemon with another trainer. This will trigger the evolution process once complete.
To get your hands on a King’s Rock though, you’re going to need to part with some of your hard earned Pokemon Dollars.
To be precise, it’ll set you back 10,000, a hefty sum for someone who still lives at home…
Now, for where to buy the King’s Rock, you’ll have to go to Mesagoza where the Delibird Presents shop is located. Head inside and browse the inventory to find a King’s Rock for yourself.
Complete Gyms To Unlock Kings Rock
However, if you’re scrolling through and not seeing it listed, that may be because you haven’t completed enough Gyms.
Yes, for the King’s Rock to appear for sale, players need to complete at least four game Gyms. Once you do so, the King’s Rock will be there for sure in all its glory.
As previously stated, you’ll now need to give it to your Poliwhirl to hold and then trade with someone in order for it to evolve into a Politoed.
After you’ve found someone trustworthy enough to trade it back to you, you’ll be the proud owner of the newly evolved ‘mon!
