The Great Sky Island is a vast area, and is home to one of Link’s first boss fights: Flux Construct 1. If you’re eager to learn how to beat Flux Construct 1 in Zelda Tears of the Kingdom, then you’ve come to the right place.
A lot of guides suggest pulling it apart using Ultrahand. However, while a solid strategy, I found it stressful trying to pull it apart before it attacked.
Instead, I opted for targeted melee attacks. I selected one of my most powerful weapons and went to town on the glowing core, with surprisingly efficient results.
However, that’ll only work for two of its three forms – if this boss transforms into its flying phase, you’ll need a better tactic than melee attacks. Curious what that involves? Well, let’s find out!
How To Beat Flux Construct 1 in Zelda Tears Of The Kingdom
To beat Flux Construct 1, target and attack the glowing core using melee weapons. If it changes into its flying form, use Ascend to get on top and execute a finishing blow.
I tried out several different techniques during this fight, and I can honestly say targeting and attacking is the quickest.
Even when its giant cube form rolls towards you, all you have to do is use a bow to hit the glowing core, or time your melee attack so you don’t get crushed.
Ascend to Win!
But what about its floating platform phase? It couldn’t be simpler when you use Ascend. Avoid getting hit by flying cubes, then run underneath the platform to use the ability. Once on top, you can easily target the core.
It’s a pretty simple boss fight. However, if you don’t use your new abilities, or you start to panic, it becomes an arduous battle.
Should I fight Flux Construct 1?
In truth, you don’t have to fight – you could just avoid the platform it’s on and explore elsewhere. But then you’d miss out on the Flux Core, which seriously increases the attack stat of any weapon you fuse it to.
My advice: get it done and get that core.
