Heritage Auctions are currently holding a batch of auctions for a bunch of really incredible retro Nintendo items.
And you may be asking yourself why we would be covering a Heritage Auctions event. I’m asking myself that as well.
But actually, it’s because it is quite fascinating to see just how much these retro games are worth to collectors.
And if you’ve got one of these games in your collection, you might be looking at a decent payday in the near future. Or you can actually play it and stick it to the man.
In any case, let’s take a look at what is coming from Heritage. You might see something you like!
Heritage + Nintendo
The “Nintendo 8 to 64-Bit Video Games Showcase Auction #44223” is currently live on the Heritage website and set to end in just a couple of weeks.
This is an entirely Nintendo focused batch of sales to take place, celebrating the number one company in video game history.
The items to be included range from the very beginning of Nintendo’s works in video game history up until the early 2000s 64-bit era.
Those items include black box titles for the NES, like the ultra rare Mr. Gimmick, which also a Gimmick! Special Edition available on current generation consoles.
Moving forward in history, there are also some great Super Nintendo titles, including a few SNES test cartridges. There’s even a sealed Super Nintendo controller, which is just incredible.
There is plenty of representation for handhelds as well, with items from Game & Watch, Game Boy, Game Boy Color, Game Boy Advance, and Virtual Boy.
There’s a sealed copy of The Legend of Zelda: Link’s Awakening DX and Pokémon Silver, both obviously appearing on our list of the best Game Boy Color games.
Oh, and there are a bunch of issues of Nintendo Power as well, many of them signed.
Rounding out the collection are the Nintendo 64 titles, like a sealed copy of GoldenEye 007, Super Mario 64, and The Legend of Zelda: Majora’s Mask.
Some personal highlights for me are the first issue of Nintendo Power, a Japanese Mario prepaid phone card, a Mario Syndrome vinyl record, and a sealed copy of The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past for the SNES.
If you’re a follower of our sister site Cardgamer.com, then you’d be interested to know there are a bunch of Nintendo trading cards on there as well.
There’s truly a lot to love here, and if you’ve got the funds to spare, you have a lot of great swag to choose from.
