Get Goofy With New SNES ROM Hack Goof Troop Paradise

Often when I think about ROM hacks, I tend to go to the major series like Super Mario, Zelda, and Sonic the Hedgehog, the games and adventures we played again and again and want more of to this day. That's what's so great about the ROM hacking community; they provide new adventures in the style of our favourite games to give us those sequels, and sometimes prequels, that the big companies never had the time to create.

But what I really love is when a ROM hack comes along for a classic game that, while maybe not as groundbreaking as the efforts of our favourite moustachioed plumber or sword-wielding Hylian, still had a big impact on my life as a kid growing up. Disney's Goof Troop was a great game, and Goofy has always been one of my favourite Disney characters because, and I've had to come to terms with this over the years, we're very alike.

ROM Hacker and Goof Troop fan LucasMegaStriker has created a new sequel for Disney's Goof Troop in the form of Goof Troop Paradise, with brand new custom-made cutscenes, a whole new story, and a new map made with the Goof Troop Editor. Experience new levels, and immerse yourself in a brand new soundtrack that also pays homage to other Capcom games that released on the SNES.

As Goofy and Max, you'll explore the Paradise Islands to thwart the evil Skeleton Brothers, stopping their hordes of pirate minions while saving the innocent natives just trying to go about their daily lives. It's a great little ROM hack that, so long as you have your legally obtained ROM of Goof Troop, you can patch on and enjoy a brand new adventure!

The puzzles are taxing enough to make you scratch your brain, the levels are varied and keep you both entertained and hungry for more, and the game captures the comedic encounters between father and son that we love from this duo. Thanks for keeping Goofy alive for a new generation, Lucas, and let us know your thoughts on the ROM hack in the comments below!
