If you're a fan of your Fallout games, then you'll know all about how the original title was an isometric game released back in 1997. It's an iconic title and one that has led to the creation of an incredibly successful series that we've all played to death. Still, I bet you've wondered what it would have been like if it were 3D, instead of a 2.5D title, right?

This fan-made title by Soap_Shampoo (of which I don't use anymore now I'm bald) was completed in a few evenings and covers the first part of the Fallout game. It feels a lot like Half-Life, Quake, and Doom, and requires games to shoot via pointing and clicking at enemies while using the arrow keys to move around.

The whole game feels super 90s, with levels that feel like they've just jumped out of the first PC that my family owned. The enemies are a little tough to kill due to the fact that they move super quickly and look like oddly rendered lumps of soil, but it keeps things interesting! I love the detailing on the gun in the still I took from the opening moments of the game above, and all in all, I've had fun playing this while slurping on my cup of tea this afternoon!

Head to the official Itch.io game page to play this 3D reimagining in your browser, or download it to play on your chosen Windows or Linux device whenever the feeling takes you!
