Fall Guys Has Been Reimagined As A PS1 Game In This Latest Demake

I've not spent much time playing Fall Guys because it's infuriatingly hard and I'm terrified at it, but I've got to admit that I'm much more excited about the game now that it's been demade to look like a PS1 title!

Pixel have Fall Guys and Fortnite kicking and screaming back into the 90s with their two latest Windows demakes, turning the little bean characters into low poly marvels fit to compete with the likes of Crash Bandicoot, Spyro, and Lara Croft.

As with Pixel's Fortnite demake, this is a conceptual game for Windows that the team made as a bit of a passion project, a creative experiment to reimagine the game as though it came from the classic years of couch co-op multiplayer titles and in-person bouts. The nostalgic twist takes me back to being in primary school and coming home to forget everything I should have remembered about maths and spelling in favour of smashing boxes and collecting apples with Crash Bandicoot.

There have been some amazing demakes coming out of Itch.io recently, not to mention the recent Pixel Ring demo that reimagines Elden Ring as a SNES game. The retro gaming community never rests, and I love seeing people's imaginations run wild with games that would never have been possible on older consoles back in the day. Although, with the rate that the SNES is running faster as it gets older, who knows - we may well see Elden Ring on it yet!

Head to the Fall Guys PS1 demake Itch.io page to download and test it out for yourself!
