For those of you who checked out Brandon's review of the AYANEO Pocket DS last month, you'll remember him saying that 3DS Android emulators just weren't ready quite yet, and that they would need a few updates in the coming months to get up to scratch. It seems that the makers of Azahar heard him and got their behinds in gear, as they've just released an update that will allow the emulator to output to two screens simultaneously.

Azahar is essentially the spiritual successor to Citra which is now very much done and dusted. Update 2123.3 brings the capabilites for output to dual touch screens, which will make the Pocket DS much more enjoyable to use. It will also make life easier for the AYN Thor and the upcoming ANBERNIC RG DS, as well as working with the Retroid Dual-Screen accessory we covered back in June. Looks like the update came just in the nick of time...

So who is it that's been working on Azahar to solve this problem? Well, according to Android Authority, a dev by the moniker of SapphireRhodonite has been the driving force behind the Azahar update, which is now integrated into the Pocket DS. He has also worked on MelonDS on Android too, so I suppose you could say that he's a bit of an expert in the game!

If you want to read more about all the intricacies of the new update, then you can head to the emulators GitHub page to check out the patch notes. Or, if you just want to get on and start gaming, then head to the Google Play store!
