As a huge Banjo-Kazooie fan, I'm very excited to announce that the Bear and Bird are coming to us in handheld form as part of a new Rare collection from the makers of the Evercade. Blaze Entertainment, the founders of both the Evercade family of systems and the HyperMegaTech Super Pocket, have announced a Rare Edition of their pocket-sized handheld today, complete with 14 preloaded classic games.

The handheld pays homage to the incredible work of Rare over the years, bringing 14 games onto one device with a new Rare-inspired Super Pocket design, complete with the Rare logo at the bottom.
This whole package is worth the cost price just for Banjo-Kazooie alone, because it means that you'll be able to play the seminal N64 adventure anywhere, anytime, and you can play any Evercade cartridge on the Super Pocket too!
Want to carry 14 @RareLtd games in your pocket, but lack the spacious leg wallets of a '90s skater? Enter: The @HyperMegaTech Super Pocket Rare Edition! 14 classic Rare titles built-in, Banjo-Kazooie optimised to work on a D-Pad, plays @evercaderetro carts, available in June. pic.twitter.com/zSuxyy9LHA

Banjo-Kazooie has been optimised to work with a D-pad too, so if you're wondering how it's going to be without a joystick, then don't fear. I will be getting one of these into the office to try out once they release this June, however, so I'll give you the full lowdown of how easy it is to control the Bear and Bird on the Super Pocket nearer to release time.
You guys all know I'm getting this for Mumbo Jumbo and the gang. Still, as I'm not allowed to show favouritism, there are also another 13 classic Rare titles to play including Conker's Pocket Tales, BattleToads, and Knight Lore, all pre-installed onto the handheld. Check out some of the list below!

The Rare Edition Super Pocket will release on June 29th, 2026, and costs £49/$69/€59. Pre-orders are being taken on Amazon now (UK currently, with more coming shortly - click the link to check your territory), so get yours secured today.
Oh, and don't forget to check out my review of the Data East & Neo Geo Super Pocket handhelds while you're here!
