Elago Game Boy AirPods Case Is The Perfect Retro-inspired Pocket Accessory

Elago are no strangers to using retro-inspired designs for their products. If you’re a regular Retro Dodo reader, then you’ll no doubt have seen us playing around with their Game Boy Advance wireless charging unit, a little gadget that we instantly fell in love with and have been using in the office ever since. And, because we live and breathe Retro Gaming whether we’re working or not, these Game Boy cases for AirPods 4 have caught our eye as the perfect homage to Nintendo’s iconic handheld. It’s a fusion of old and new that works so well and is much more exciting than the original Apple case design!

You know how the Game Boy could survive pretty much anything (including the Gulf War)? Well, these cases are built in the same resilient way using tough silicone that is non-slip and adds extra protection to your existing AirPods case when in your pocket or, as will undoubtedly happen, when it falls out and onto the floor.

If you really want to show off, you can even attach it to your belt loop or backpack with the attached carabiner. However, that’s probably a terrible idea if you live in the UK like me, as they would be soaked before I even got to the bus. Still, it’s a nice addition to a range of accessories that, while we might not need, we certainly want to collect every single one of.

The new and improved Game Boy AirPods 4 case is available from the Elago website for $18.99, but don’t worry if you’re still rocking the 1st or 2nd generation of AirPods – you can still grab a Game Boy case for those over on Amazon!
