Listen, while it's all well and good that Mario and Sonic and Link have been getting the LEGO treatment, I want to spare a thought for the Gundam fans who have been waiting patiently for Denmark's finest to make some block-building sets of these mighty machines.

Back in May, I wrote about BANDAI SPIRITS' plans to release their first buildable 1/60 scale 3D model of a Nu Gundam. It's set to release in Japan and cost ¥66,000, which is around £340 or $450. Don't get me wrong, it looks amazing, but now that I've got lots of LEGO gaming products in my game room, I really want to continue the theme with more famous franchises. Luckily, LEGO Ideas user 예술적인랜스도사 (which translates as Artistic Lancet) feels the same and has come up with a design for a Freedom Gundam which looks absolutely incredible!

I get that LEGO are working to do the biggest and most topical series like Pokémon at the minute, but LEGO Ideas users are giving the people what they really want, and as 예술적인랜스도사 states, lots of people have been calling for a detailed LEGO version of the Freedom Gundam. They have taken great care to work on the proportions and detailing of the head section which is undoubtedly one of the most impressive elements of the whole suit.

I know I would probably have this up on my desk as opposed to giving it to my little one to play with and throw around the house after her Grinch toy, but it really does look too good not to be played with. It's a brilliant build design and I can imagine having some great fun putting this together, which is why we need to make it a reality.

I know I say this a lot, but I can really see this one becoming a reality. At the time of writing, it has 329 votes and 423 days to hit the next milestone of 1,000 votes. It's free to pledge your support to LEGO Ideas projects; all you have to do is sign up and click support. I hope that this is sitting next to a LEGO Arwing on my desk very soon, so let's do everything we can to make them both a reality!

Head to the official LEGO Ideas page to show this set some love!
