If you have been a long-time reader of Retro Dodo, you'll know that we're big fans of Croc; it was personally one of my most memorable games growing up as a kid with a PlayStation 1, and recently, over the last couple of years, Croc has been getting some much-needed love when it comes to remasters on modern consoles, even if it left us a little disappointed in our written review.

That said, it's good to see the little green fella return, even on the GAME BOY too, thanks to a collaboration with ModRetro to get it re-released. And it seems that collaboration is going even further with a new version of Croc making its way to the M64 and, with that, compatible with the Nintendo 64.

This was announced by both Argonaut Games and ModRetro across social media, celebrating the ongoing month of Croctober, showing a video revealing some minor gameplay, alongside the potential M64 Cartridge Box, which looks like many of ModRetro's M64 launch games, and finally a release date tease of 2027.

It's unclear as of right now if this will come with some extra content; perhaps they'll use some of the remaster content to fill this up and make it a more compelling purchase for those that already have the remaster on modern hardware, but nonetheless it's a great game and one that fits the Nintendo 64, even if it hurts the inner PlayStation kid inside of me!
