If you're not aware of BrickBoy, then grab a chair and listen up. When the LEGO Game Boy came out last month, everyone was angling to be the first to turn it into a working handheld. It's the modder's dream, right? And while many had promising ideas, BrickBoy were the ones to run with it and create a working plug-and-play system that you could drop into your LEGO Game Boy kit without soldering or coding.
And if you need to buy the LEGO Game Boy still, it's at its cheapest ever price on Amazon UK!
In essence, BrickBoy solved the problem that everyone had with this set: 'It looks great, but I wish I could play it!' The retro gaming community has fully gotten behind BrickBoy and helped it to reach a current total of over €525,000, far surpassing its initial goal of €100,000. And as a thank you to the community, BrickBoy have revealed a new Arcade Edition that transforms your LEGO Game Boy into a mini arcade machine!
This is a full LEGO alternative MOC build that was designed by Lego7, a LEGO Ideas winner. You'll be able to plug your Game Boy cartridges in and play them on a miniature LEGO arcade cabinet on your desk, or (and here's the best bit) hook it up to your TV via the included HDMI port! It also has built-in support for Arcade emulation and local multiplayer support. Plus, it comes with a little LEGO stool - it's the small things, right?

That's not all, either - BrickBoy have also added Bluetooth controller support to all Gamer and Collector kits, meaning you can hook up your favourite remote when connecting your Arcade Edition up to your monitor or TV. And yes, they're showcasing the 8BitDo SN30 Pro because it's one of the best controllers for retro gaming out there!

To clarify, this is an add-on to the LEGO Game Boy experience and not something that replaces it. The Arcade Edition is an add-on that can be added to your basket after pledging or purchasing a BrickBoy kit, and at the time of writing, there are 876 of 1000 available, so you'll need to act quickly if you want to be one of the lucky 1,000 to own this first release!
