When it comes to creating custom consoles, Hugo from SuperGusiland knows how to make us reach for our wallets. Some of you might remember seeing the Golden Magikarp GBA SP custom shell that we posted on Facebook a while back, and now he's back with a custom DS Lite that Pokémon Silver lovers will want to add to their collection immediately.

Based on the woodblock print 'Under the Wave off Kanagawa' or 'The Great Wave off Kanagawa' by Hokusai, this custom DS has Lugia, Pikachu, and Piplup frolicking in the ocean, accompanied by blossom petals for the ultimate relaxing, summer scene. Pikachu surfing on Hokusai's iconic artwork might be sacrilegious to some, but I'm all here for it!

The reverse of the console boasts images of Lugia and Magikarp, while the inside has a picture of a surfing Pikachu and a Pokémon trainer that looks very much like Ash Ketchum holding the Gen 2 starters in his hands.

The DS Lite is available to buy as a completed console on SuperGusiland's website for €290 (£251/$339), or in a shell-only option for €85 (£73/$99). Pre-orders are open now for the Great Wave Lugia DS design, with many other Pokémon-themed DS designs available to purchase too!
