I'm never going to get to pilot a real Gundam as they're not real (sorry guys, but there it is), and while I won't ever be put in charge of making a life-size statue anytime soon because of my lack of building experience and easy-access to Japan, I could safely be let loose on this 1/60 scale figurine of this Nu Gundam kit to celebrate the 45th anniversary of Gunpla. It's got an epic name too - 'PERFECT GRADE UNLEASHED 1/60 ν Gundam Gunpla Kit', because nothing in the Gundam world has a boring name!
Revealed on the Bandai Hobby website, the official page states that 'Amuro faced Char in the final battle in the Nu Gundam, which was praised as the masterpiece of its time. In 2025, the 45th anniversary of Gunpla, the Nu Gundam that disappeared into the light of awakening will be re-manifested with
PERFECT GRADE UNLEASHED's latest and greatest technology.' It's all epic stuff, and it's the first time that a buildable 1/60 scale 3D model has been created by the company for fans to experience the meticulous detail that goes into these designs.

So yes, this is as close as we will probably get to constructing a ν Gundam or Nu Gundam Mobile Suit in our lifetime until defence companies start making them to ward off attacks from outer space. The buildable figure can be posed in different stances and has signature features like Fin funnels, a beam rifle, shield, beam sabers, and a New Hyper Bazooka.
In terms of price, the PERFECT GRADE UNLEASHED kit will cost ¥66,000, which is around £340 or $450, and will release in Japan in January 2026. Obviously, the world is a small place these days and I'm sure there will be ways of getting hold of a kit even if you don't live in Japan. Still, if you fancy making a special trip for New Year's, then it would be rude not to pick one up while you're there!
