Pokémon TCG Pocket has quickly become one of the most downloaded apps of all time, capturing 90s collecting nostalgia and the thrill of opening up a packet of Pokémon cards no matter where you are in the world. It's made millions of dollars since launching in October last year, and now Bandai Namco want a slice of the action.

There were many pop-culture rivalries when I was growing up; Oasis Vs Blur, Batman Vs Superman, PlayStation Vs Nintendo, and perhaps the biggest, Pokémon Vs Digimon. While I've always loved Digimon, it just never seemed to have the same pulling power that Pikachu and his pals did. Still, Bandai Namco are hoping to change that with the arrival of Digimon Alysion, a new card-battling game for Android and IOS devices. Check out the trailer below!

There isn't much to go on as of yet apart from the fact that there seem to be characters involved with the gameplay and a narrative arc - my early impressions are that it could be more like the Pokémon TCG Game for the Game Boy Color than primarily based around opening packs like on the mobile Pokémon TCG app. The graphics look phenomenal and the card-battling arenas look very thought out with nice detailing.

While there isn't a release date planned for the game, news of a closed-test Beta has been revealed by Gematsu, so keep an eye out for more news on this and a potential release date as and when I get them!
