Shortly after the official reveal of AYN's dual-screen clamshell handheld named THOR, they have now revealed the next handheld in their lineup, the Odin 3.

AYN's Odin line has a long history in powering a wide range of retro emulators, and a successful one at that, thanks to the sheer power the devices are stacked with, alongside a large choice of budgets that their products have to offer.

The original Odin started as a budget handheld when released back in 2021 intriguing many retro games. The Odin 2 started at $299, with new versions and upgrades pushing it all the way up to $499 without shipping fees, moving away from affordable retro gaming too competiting with the likes of the Steam Deck.

So, I am hoping that the AYN Odin 3, which has just been revealed today, has a wide range of price tags to match the wide audience that this niche welcomes. We're seeing far too many companies say they're "affordable" but actually the price tags say differently... I am looking at you, AYANEO and KONKR!

We have no current information on pricing or release dates as of yet, but if we follow the history of THOR recently, it's likely pre-orders, specs and release date information will be revealed over the next few days.

So far, AYN has shown off a small teaser of the device, showcasing a design that looks nearly identical to the Retroid Pocket 5... like crazily similar.

I wouldn't be surprised if in the future we find out that all of these new Chinese handheld companies are all ran by the same person, using the same factories, same designers, same distros etc.

What we know so far is that it will feature LED hall joysticks, a Snapdragon/Qualcomm chipset, run on an Android OS, active cooling, a 16:9 display, back triggers, a rumble motor and three colour choices.

It's likely AYN will reveal more information regarding the Odin 3 over the coming days. My bet is this will feature a wide range of versions, like a Lite, Base, Pro and Max, similar to their previous models, ranging from $300 - $500.

I will great another news post once they reveal this information, so stay tuned, or subscribe to our newsletter to keep updated.
