If, like us, you live and breathe everything to do with handheld gaming, then you’ll no doubt be eagerly anticipating the arrival of AYANEO’s new Pocket DMG & Micro handhelds. Based on two of Nintendo’s most iconic handhelds, the Game Boy DMG and the Game Boy Micro, these two products make up part of the company’s REMAKE series and are set to bring a wave of nostalgia that will fill our hearts and minds while emptying our wallets.
Of the two handhelds, I’m most looking forward to getting my hands on the Pocket Micro. Made from blocks of aluminium and the size of an iPhone held horizontally, it’s set to be a premium mini handheld and one of the best ways to emulate GBA games. Still, the DMG looks great too, though I’m not sure about the random analog stick on the bottom just yet…
The Ayaneo Indiegogo campaigns for both the Pocket DMG and Micro go live on Wedneday the 31st of July at 8:00AM EST, which is 5 hours behind us here in the UK and making the launch time 12 noon for us Brits. CEO Arthur Zhang is promising to ‘take us back to the beginning’, and there will be a live stream on YouTube as the products launch.
