AYANEO have just announced that they have been working on the world's first flip, dual-screen Android handheld, specially designed for dual-screen enthusiasts and geek gamers for over a year now.
Their new handheld takes inspiration from their current AYANEO Flip DS line, but this time debuting a new retro-style secondary screen, and it will be making its first appearance at the Qualcomm Snapdragon Booth at ChinaJoy 2025.
Details are sparse at the moment, though Arthur Zhang has told us in the latest AYANEO live stream that more details will be arriving tomorrow. It's the first look at the device, and there are some new changes to the gamepad in comparison to their recently released 1S DS.

The fact that the console is in mass production and has box art makes me think that we might not have to wait much longer until the crowdfunding campaign begins. From looking at the initial button layout design on the image shown above, it's making me think that their Android-based DS is going to feel incredibly unique, and maybe a little overwhelming.
There are lots of new buttons and more screen real estate, making the location of the action buttons and joysticks limited, making me believe it may not be that comfortable for long periods of use, especially if it has some weight to it. However, I would be happy to be proven wrong!

The shell has been CNCd, meaning it's going to be a durable handheld that will probably destroy your tiled kitchen floor if you drop it, something we like to see from handhelds that we'll be taking out into the world with us, and especially now Brandon has children that manage to crawl into his games room to mess around with his collection!

Watching Arthur holding the device, it looks to be a substantial handheld that's bigger than the likes of the 3DS XL. The screens are perfectly sized with the top screen boasting a 16:9 ratio, making it great for emulating your favourite PSP games and other Android-based titles.
It has come at a good time because I know a lot of you have been eyeing up GoRetroid's dual screen attachment, albeit this will be on a completely different pricing level.
The Pocket DS comes in Black and Yellow so far, according to the livestream, and is ergonomically designed with curved back grips. As I said above, more information will arrive tomorrow, so I'll update this article as and when specs arrive!
