No, your eyes are not deceiving you. Atari have launched 'the first-ever purpose-built gaming hotel in the Western Hemisphere', and it sounds like something from a sci-fi movie come to life.

According to the official press release, the flagship hotel being built in conjunction with Intersection Development in Phoenix, Arizona, comes complete with rooms packed with modern technology that will make you feel like your in Altered Carbon, suites for creators, an Esports arena with room for over 2,000 spectators, and an arena for live music, as well as nostalgia-inducing retail and dining areas.

The concept pictures look like something that's come out of Tron, and I'm hoping my complimentary stay is in the post as we speak!

Fans of the iconic gaming brand around the world are excited about the new Regulation A Offering that Atari have set out, which is essentially an open invitation to buy into the new hotel with real estate equity packages starting from $500. There are different pricing tiers giving fans different privileges, including meet and greets with famous names in the gaming world.

It's a clever idea that gives Atari fans and retro gaming lovers in general a chance to own a small piece of something which, once built and up and running, is going to be one of the wildest hotels on the planet and go on to be an incredible piece of gaming and American history in years to come.

Atari need between 35 and 40 million to make the hotel a reality, and they've already amassed $14 million to date. If they were to rely on investments from fans alone now and everyone investing paid just $500, then that would mean 52,000 people need to invest to get the full 40 million.

Obviously, people with much more money than me will be pledging a heck of a lot more to bring this hotel to life with packages going all the way up to $50,000, but it's nice that there's a package available that 'the everyman' can use to buy into a slice of Atari's future.

So, when can you expect to get into the very first Atari hotel? Well, construction is set to start in Q1 2026, with the grand opening of the hotel scheduled towards the end of 2028.
