The latest tariffs imposed on China, however, are affecting stock being sent to the United States, with ANBERNIC stating that they will no longer be shipping devices from China to the US.
In an official statement, Anbernic said, "Due to changes in U.S. tariff policies, we will be suspending all orders shipping from China to the United States starting today. We strongly recommend prioritizing products shipped from our U.S. warehouse, which are currently not affected by import duties and can be purchased with confidence."
The best option at the moment is for US customers to purchase from the ANBERNIC US warehouse while stocks last. The company has always given customers the choice of purchasing from the US or their Chinese warehouse, but once existing stock disappears from the US, it's going to mean it will be very difficult for American gamers to get their hands on the latest retro devices.
The trade war between the US and China has resulted in a 145% tariff on goods from China, with China imposing a 125% tariff on American goods. It's a situation that doesn't look like it will find a solution any time soon, at least not for the remainder of President Trump's term, at any rate. For now, I suggest you head to the ANBERNIC website and pick up that handheld you've been wanting for a while now before they sell out completely, or take to eBay to find a second-hand console if stocks are already depleted.
