This week has been a mad one for Retroid Pocket Nova news, so it's refreshing to see ANBERNIC force our hands in writing about something different this week, all by uploading a new hands-on video of their upcoming Android retro handheld, the RG 55G1.
ANBERNIC today published a YouTube video showing hands-on footage for the first time. It looks like a Nintendo Switch Lite, which I see the community likes.
The YouTube video comes with the description: "Get an immersive look at the physical devices in 3 stunning colorways: Indigo, Retro Grey, and Black. The full-screen 2.5D glass maximises the visual impact, complemented by a hands-on demonstration of the 3D Hall effect joysticks, Hall triggers, and dual-injection molded buttons. Featuring brand-new craftsmanship and premium texture, witness the new benchmark for retro handheld aesthetics."
The 2.5D is emphasising the fact that the front glass panel bends around the edges to meet the plastic backshell, which I'll admit will feel nice on the hands even if front glass panels are overused these days. The hall joysticks, action buttons and DPAD will likely be great too, in ANBERNIC fashion.
Though we're all waiting for specifications and pricing on this thing, seeing as other competitors in the space all have something similar already out on the market, so what's going to make customers buy this over something else, or something they already have, hopefully its bang for your buck. But only time will tell, we'll keep you updated with more information as usual, and subscribe to our free weekly newsletter to not miss out on industry news.
