The RG34XXSP has been a very popular handheld since its release in 2025, so much so that it still ranks highly in our best retro handhelds list. It's got that nostalgic form-factor, lovely display, decent power for emulation and an affordable $68 price tag.

It originally came in four different colours, including: Yellow, Grey, Black and Indigo, which is a pretty good ammount to choose from when you consider ANBERNIC rarely give that many choices with their devices, even the new RG Rotate only comes in two colourways!

But, as of today, a new colour enters their portfolio of RG34XXSP choices, and that's the all-new metallic blue. Though this is still technically plastic, it does give off that metal, metallic look, which will appeal to many who remember the metallic blue GAME BOY Advance SP from back in the day. In fact, I had that exact coloured console growing up, so this announcement has certainly intrigued me.

The device doesn't get any new specifications, nor any updates in general, just a new shell, shadowdropped out of nowhere. Which I am all for.

The new Metallic Blue RG34XXSP is now available to buy via ANBERNIC.com, and will ship immediately from China.
