Analogue Reveal Limited Edition “GBC” Inspired Pocket Consoles

If you think you have deja vu, you’re wrong, Analogue are back with more Limited Edition console colours to add to their portfolio, this time the colours are inspired by Game Boy Color handheld colour palettes.

This news comes shortly after releasing their $500 Metal Pocket consoles. The Game Boy Color coloured Pockets start at $249.99 and go on sale on the 12th September 2024 at 8am PDT for those that want to snag them.

It’s typical for the $250 limited edition Pockets to sell out quite quickly, although the metal variants took weeks to sell out so who knows how long it will take, but Analogue have mentioned that these are “highly limited” so if you do want to snag one I recommend setting your alarm.

The new colours launching on the 12th September are as follows:

  • Kiwi
  • Teal
  • Grape
  • Gold
  • Berry
  • Dandelion

Each colour taking inspiration from some of the unique editions that were launched on the Game Boy Color throughout the 90’s and early 2000’s. These colours certainly pop compared to the standard black and white that are now back in stock on the 12th of September too, although the same goes for these normal editions, they sell out quick… or is it a marketing tactic to sell more limited edition variants? I think we all have our thoughts on that.

Analogue also updated their firmware to version 2.3, which you can read more about here in their notes.
