From the early beginnings on the Atari right the way through to the PS5, check out every single game that Spider-Man has ever featured on and add them to your collection!
Check out the full list of all the Spider-Man games ever made below, and remember, with great power comes great responsibility!
Table of Contents
1. Spider-Man (1982)
The very first Spider-Man game, dropping back on the Atari 2600 back in 1982 was released by Parker Brothers. It was also the first game based on a Marvel Comic too.
How’s that for kicking off this article with a choice fact?
2. Questprobe Featuring Spider-Man (1984)
Questprobe Featuring Spider-Man differed to many of the other Questprobe games due to the fact that players could use actual sentences in it. We love a good text-driven game, and having famous faces from the Marvel Universe just made things even more exciting!
3. The Amazing Spider-Man and Captain America in Dr. Doom’s Revenge! (1989)
Next up in our all Spider-Man games in order article is The Amazing Spider-Man and Captain America in Dr. Doom’s Revenge!. As the name suggests, Spider-Man and Captain America are teaming up to take down a horde of Super Villains.
Players control Spidey first and then Cap second, alternating as they go through the game. There was even character profiles for every villain in the booklet that came with the game!
4. The Revenge Of Shinobi (1989)
The Revenge Of Shinobi didn’t feature Spidey as a playable character, but he was a villain that players had to defeat. We’re not quite sure why he appeared as a villain, but it was a cool surprise when we first found it out!
5. The Amazing Spider-Man (1990)
The Amazing Spider-Man dropped on the Commodore 64 and Amiga back in 1990. Mysterio has kidnapped MJ, and players have to work through movie-inspired stages in order to save her. The game is pretty primitive, but it’s still a cracking title for fans to sink their teeth into!
6. The Amazing Spider-Man (1990)
The Amazing Spider-Man made the jump to Game Boy in 1990, and even though it’s in black and white, you need to remember that this is Spidey and not Venom. It’s known for its comic-book esque cut-scene quips.
It’s classic beat-em-up action and a game that spawned some incredible sequels!
7. Spider-Man Vs The Kingpin (1990)
Spider-Man Vs The Kingpin is up next in our all Spider-Man games list. Fight classic villains such as Hobgoblin, Mysterio, Sandman while trying to stop a nuclear bomb.
Ok, so no pressure then, right?
Save M.J from Venom and clear Spidey’s name, taking down the Kingpin in the process. Peter really has his work cut out for him here!
8. The Punisher: Ultimate Payback (1991)
The Punisher: Ultimate Payback features Frank Castle, one of my favourite Marvel characters of all time, and he’s joined by Spider-Man throughout the entire game. While this is mainly a Punisher game, Spidey appears to save hostages and give the player advice on how to proceed.
9. Spider-Man: The Video Game (1991)
Spider-Man: The Video Game allowed you and three mates to play at the same time while down at the arcade. It’s essentially Streets of Rage with Spider-Man and his gang.
Each character boasts special moves, and you’ll need to use them all in order to beat Scorpion, Doc Ock, Green Goblin, and other villains!
10. The Amazing Spider-Man 2 (1992)
Let’s go back to black (and white) for the next title in our list. The Amazing Spider-Man 2 added a new collecting mechanic which added to the success of the first DMG game. Players can’t complete puzzles without picking up certain tools now, and you won’t be able to clear Spidey’s name without them!
He’s always getting accused for something – the people should trust him more!
11. Spider-Man: Return of the Sinister Six (1992)
Doctor Octopus needs to stop trying to take over the world too. In this game, Spider-Man needs to stop him and the Sinister Six from conquering the planet. It’s super hard too, with players just having one life!
12. Spider-Man and the X-Men in Arcade’s Revenge (1992)
Spider-Man and the X-Men in Arcade’s Revenge is up next, and while it came out for the Game Gear, Genesis, and Game Boy, we loved the SNES version the most.
This game feels a little like Marvel meets The Running Man. Instead of Arnie calling the shots, Spidey and some captured X-Men must make their way through Arcade’s Murderworld and come out victorious.
13. The Amazing Spider-Man 3: Invasion of the Spider-Slayers (1993)
The last Game Boy game in the Amazing Spider-Man series came in the form of The Amazing Spider-Man 3: Invasion of the Spider-Slayers.
It’s very much similar to the other two games, with puzzles to solve and the usual villains making the rounds once more. Alistar Smythe is the main baddie to beat – good luck!
14. Spider-Man and Venom: Maximum Carnage (1994)
Spider-Man and Venom working together with the likes of Iron Fist, Captain America, and other Marvel Heroes; it’s the stuff that dreams are made of.
If you’ve got one of the red cartridges of this game, then that means you’ve got one of the very first prints, and they’re worth a pretty penny now!
15. The Amazing Spider-Man: Lethal Foes (1995)
Next up in our list of Spider-Man games is The Amazing Spider-Man: Lethal Foes. If you’re not a fan of adhering to time limits, then you’re not going to like this one. Get to the checkpoint before the time runs out, otherwise it’s game over!
Scorpion, Venom, and Doc Ock are back once more, but you can call on Iron Fist and the Human Torch to help you out through the levels.
16. Venom/Spider-Man: Seperation Anxiety (1995)
It’s weird to think that Venom and Spider-Man could ever have worries about not being around each other, but Venom/Spider-Man: Seperation Anxiety proves otherwise.
This game serves as a sequel to Maximum Carnage, and you and a mate can play as both Spidey and Venom as you move through the streets laying the smackdown on cretins. Daredevil even makes an appearance too for the ultimate Marvel experience!
17. Spider-Man (1995)
1995’s Spider-Man is the last title you’ll see with the Acclaim logo on it, signalling the end of an era for the company
Doc Ock and the Green Goblin are up to their usual tricks once more. It’s fun but nothing new by any stretch of the imagination. Stop the Sinister Six (again) and save the day!
18. The Amazing Spider-Man: Web of Fire (1996)
The Amazing Spider-Man: Web of Fire only appeared on the 32X, which meant you’d need a Sega Genesis and the extra peripheral to play it. Hydra and the New Enforcers are terrorising New York, and Spidey, with Daredevil’s help, must take them down.
The game didn’t do very well for obvious reasons – the 32X was a flop. As a result, copies of Web of Fire can reach crazy prices on second hand sites!
19. Marvel Super Heroes In War of the Gems (1996)
Marvel Super Heroes In War of the Gems is up next in our all Spider-Man games article, with Spidey up front and centre on the cover leading a gang of classic heroes.
If you’re thinking ‘Gems’ could be linked to the the Infinity Stones, then you’d be right. Adam Warlock asks the heroes of Earth to step up and find the gems before they can be used for evil.
Enter Spidey and Co in side-scrolling beat-em-up action !
20. Spider-Man: The Sinister Six (1996)
Spider-Man: The Sinister Six, as you might guess, brings the Sinister Six back as villains for Peter Parker to thwart once more. I like this MS-DOS game as it plays with the ‘six’ theme throughout.
Work out puzzles, beat bosses in their own minigames, and encounter 6 storylines leading to 6 different endings!
21. Marvel Super Heroes (1997)
Although Marvel Super Heroes came to arcades in 1995, it was the 1997 ports for the Sega Saturn and the PS1 that allowed us to play day-in, day-out without running out of quarters.
It’s essentially Street Fighter with Marvel characters, a generalisation that will annoy a lot of die-hard fans, but I have limited time and I need to try to cater for everyone!
Players can actually use the Infinity Gems in battle to gain special powers – just make sure you’re the one using them and not on the receiving end of a power blast!
22. Marvel Super Heroes vs. Street Fighter (1997)
See why I mentioned Street Fighter above now? Everything is pre-planned, I promise, and Marvel Super Heroes vs. Street Fighter is a brilliant game that actually is Street Fighter with Marvel Characters.
Spider-Man vs Ryu could be one of the best battles I’ve ever had on this game – two absolute powerhouses and the most famous faces in their franchises. Spoiler alert – Ryu’s Hadouken was no match for Spidey!
21. Marvel vs. Capcom: Clash of Super Heroes (1998)
Marvel vs. Capcom: Clash of Super Heroes brings more characters from the world of Capcom into the Marvel Universe. That means you’ve got way more choice than just the Street Fighter cast to pick from.
Play as Mega Man, Strider Hyru, and Captain Commando as well as Venom, Gambit, Captain America, and many other famous faces that you know and love from these two epic companies.
22. Spider-Man (2000)
Now 2000’s Spider-Man is a game that needs no introduction whatsoever. I know that everyone reading this article has played this game at some point in their lives and is still one of the best PS1 games that we have in our collections.
Narration from Stan Lee accompanies a story that follows Spidey as he (you guessed it) attempts to clear his name after a Doppleganger causes havoc.
23. Marvel vs. Capcom 2: New Age of Heroes (2000)
Spider-Man, Juggernaut, Thanos, Captain America, Dhalsim, Jill Valentine, Mega Man, all battling together. It can only be Marvel vs. Capcom 2: New Age of Heroes!
Tag-team battling with an amazing cast of fighters from Marvel and Capcom history up to the year 2000, what’s not to love?
24. Spider-Man 2: The Sinister Six (2001)
Spider-Man 2: The Sinister Six is the GBC exclusive sequel the PS1 Spider-Man game. It’s nowhere near as advanced as the main sequel that dropped on the PS1.
Find a key, open a door, beat back enemies, swing from webs on side-scrolling levels. It’s simple but great to play on your GBC or Analogue Pocket.
And here in Europe, it’s called Enter The Sinister Six, which makes more sense considering the title of the actual sequel.
25. Spider-Man 2: Enter Electro (2001)
Why the GBC chose to go for the Sinister Six again when the main sequel was titled Spider-Man 2: Enter Electro I still don’t know, especially since the GBC game isn’t linked to the MS-DOS Sinister Six game.
This proper sequel follows on from the events of the 2000 PS1 game. It had to have its final boss battle changed from the World Trade Center after the September 11th attacks, moving to an unnamed skyscraper for the showdown with Electro.
26. Spider-Man: Mysterio’s Menace (2001)
I bet Spider-Man would like to just take a day off once in a while. Spider-Man: Mysterio’s Menace sees Peter Parket heading out to buy a fishbowl and ending up battling Rhino, Electro, and tonnes of other villains led by Mysterio.
He doesn’t get his fish bowl, but he makes do with using Mysterio’s helmet instead!
27. X-Men: Mutant Academy 2 (2001)
X-Men: Mutant Academy 2 brings all the X-Men into a 2.5D fighting extravaganza. If you encounter and beat Spidey in the Arcade mode, then he becomes a playable character.
Spidey has his trademark Spider Sense and uses the New York City Rooftops level. As the only character not from the X-Men series to make the game, I guess you could say that he’s considered a bit of a celebrity.
28. Spider-Man (2002)
I was a huge fan of Spider-Man for the GameCube and played it to death as a 12-year-old kid. Like any film adaptation of a game, there are extra bits added in that weren’t in the film to keep the action flowing.
It also features Tobey Maguire and Willem Dafoe giving their voices to the game too!
29. Spider-Man 2 (2004)
Spider-Man 2 came out two years after the first game and is actually set two years after too, which is a nice little bit of continuity! Maguire and Dunst give their voices to the game along with Alfred Molina as Doc Ock.
30. Spider-Man vs. Doc Ock (2004)
Speaking of Doc Ock, here he is in our first mobile game of our all Spider Man games article!
With just 3 stages, it’s not the biggest game of all time. Jump, swing, avoid obstacles, and eventually battle Doc Ock himself!
31. Spider-Man 2 3D: NY Subway/Rooftops (2005)
Both Spider-Man 2 3D: NY Subway/Rooftops are similar to Spider-Man vs. Doc Ock, with players completing jumping and swinging actions as they move through various primitive-looking levels.
32. Ultimate Spider Man (2005)
Let’s get back to the actual console games with Ultimate Spider Man for the GBA. I played this with the aid of the worm light so much back in the day.
This handheld version is very basic compared to the home console variants, but it’s got a simple charm that the Retro Dodo Team can’t get enough of.
33. Marvel Nemesis: Rise Of The Imperfects (2005)
Marvel Nemesis: Rise Of The Imperfects is up next on our list of all Spider-Man games in order, bringing some epic battles with Spidey and Marvels strongest warriors. Fight the Imperfects and bring balance to the city!
34. Spider-Man: Battle for New York (2006)
Has anyone done more to protect New York than Spider-Man? Spider-Man: Battle for New York is the follow up to Ultimate Spider-Man. You can actually play as the Green Goblin in this game too!
35. Marvel Ultimate Alliance (2006)
Marvel Ultimate Alliance sees players taking control of their pick from over 100 villains and heroes from the Marvel Universe, completing RPG quests and levelling up characters as they progress. Fight massive villains and use your noggin to complete this iconic PS3 title!
36. Spider-Man 3 (2007)
The 36th game in our all Spider-Man games in order article is Spider-Man 3, the third game based on Tobey Maguire’a films.
In essence, it’s very similar to the first two titles. I love the open-world nature of the third game and just swinging around when not completing missions. This is the only game that James Franco voices his own character’s lines too!
37. Spider-Man: Friend Or Foe (2007)
Spider-Man: Friend Or Foe sees Spidey facing off against some of our favourite enemies such as Venom and the Green Goblin. The weird thing is that once you’ve defeated them, you can get them to side with you as though using the Imperius Curse on them!
38. Spider-Man: Web of Shadows (2008)
Symbiotes have a lot to answer for in Spidey’s world. In Spider-Man: Web of Shadows, players must wield both Spidey’s red and black suits, choosing whether to rely on speed or power as they move through the game. The choices you make will affect how people perceive you as you play too, so watch out!
39. Spider-Man: Toxic City (2009)
We’re heading back to mobile with Spider-Man: Toxic City, a Final Fight/Streets of Rage beat-em-up title that many of my mates had on their Blackberrys. Stop the Green Goblin from turning New Yorkers into villains, creating antidotes by beating enemies!
40. Marvel Ultimate Alliance 2 (2009)
Marvel Ultimate Alliance 2 sees characters deciding whether they are for or against their identities being revealed to the world. Pick a side and battle the other team!
This title looks so much better than the first game in the series, and having a bonus for having characters from the same franchise is a nice little twist.
41. Marvel Super Hero Squad (2009)
Spider-Man has an unlockable campaign in this game, even though he’s not part of the main adventure. Still, he features prominently on the cover because he’s everyone’s favourite Marvel character (officially along with Thor and Iron Man).
42. Spider-Man: Shattered Dimensions (2010)
Fixing the Tablet of Order and Chaos is a tough task, so much so that Spider-Man: Shattered Dimensions sees The Amazing Spiderman, Ultimate Spiderman, Noir Spiderman, and Spiderman 2099 joining forces! Use all of their skills to save the day!
43. Marvel Super Hero Squad: The Infinity Gauntlet (2010)
The second Marvel Super Hero Squad title Marvel Super Hero Squad: The Infinity Gauntlet features Spider-Man playing a much more prominent role. Players have to work through the game and take down both Thanos and Dr. Doom, taking the Infinity Stones for themselves. Play through story mode, free play mode, and challenge mode with its cool non-combat based games!
44. Spider-Man: Edge Of Time (2011)
Spider-Man: Edge Of Time has one of the most iconic covers of all the Spider-Man games in this list. Learn new moves, collect Golden Spiders, and beat down Walker Sloane’s thugs and cronies as you and Spider-Man 2099 work together.
45. Marvel vs. Capcom 3: Fate of Two Worlds (2011)
It’s time for another Marvel and Capcom fighting title featuring Spider-Man in the form of Marvel vs. Capcom 3: Fate of Two Worlds. How does seeing Wolverine going up against Amaterasu, an actual wolf, sound to you?
Captain America vs Viewtiful Joe, She-Hulk vs Chun-Li – Fate of Two Worlds has it all!
46. Ultimate Marvel Vs Capcom 3 (2011)
Well, not quite all, as Ultimate Marvel Vs Capcom 3 is the updated ‘ultimate’ version with new characters, modes, and extras to make it even more exciting for fans! Doctor Strange, Phoenix Wright, and Rocket Racoon were 3 of the 2 characters added!
47. Marvel Super Hero Squad Online (2011)
Marvel Super Hero Squad Online is an MMO designed for younger players wanting to battle online. Make your own squad and chat with other players while using in-game-currency to upgrade your team!
48. The Amazing Spider-Man (2012)
We’re back to movie adaptations now with The Amazing Spider-Man, following Andrew Garfield’s outing as the world famous wall-crawler. Players must help to find a cure for a virus threatening the people of Manhatten.
49. Marvel: Avengers Alliance (2012)
Marvel: Avengers Alliance might not exist anymore, but it left behind a great legacy. Disney closed the game down in 2016, but it ran for 4 epic years and was a firm fixture on my iPhone back in 2013.
Take part in turn-based fights with all of your favourite characters!
50. Marvel Avengers: Battle for Earth (2012)
We’ve hit the big 50 in our list of all Spider-Man games in order – Marvel Avengers: Battle for Earth.
The Wii-U might have been a flop, but this game featuring a plot to defeat the shape-shifting Skrulls is amazing. The Skrulls have created copies of the Marvel Heroes, copying their powers too. Stop them from conquering Earth and protect your beloved NYC!
51. Marvel Heroes (2013)
Marvel Heroes is another one of those legendary games that sadly no-longer exists. Dr Doom and his ventures with the Cosmic Cube have passed into legend, with players left to reminisce about clicking enemies and watching as Spidery and pals kicked butt and built up skill trees while doing it!
52. LEGO Marvel Super Heroes (2013)
LEGO Marvel Super Heroes boasts all of the humour, thrills, and spills of the LEGO Games with classic miniature heroes that we all know and love. Take Spider-Man, Thor, Hulk, Iron Man, and hordes of other heroes and villains on an incredible adventure!
53. Marvel Puzzle Quest (2013)
Marvel Puzzle Quest is one for all the puzzlers out there (not to be confused with the DC Villain). Move gems to match them and make them vanish, all with Marvel characters on the screen. IT’s a nice gimmick that we’ve seen plenty of times before, just with Spider-Man this time!
54. Ultimate Spider-Man: Total Mayhem (2013)
Venom and Norman Osborne are messing with people once again, and SHIELD are calling in Spider-Man to sort things out. Destroy Venom’s symbiotic minions and do whatever you can to convince the weird woman who called you a freak that you’re not a freak… like that’s the biggest of Peter Parker’s problems!
55. Spider-Man Unlimited (2013)
Spider-Man Unlimited is up next in our all Spider-Man games list. He’s swinging through New York once more, fighting crime and slinging web, stopping the Sinister Six in their tracks once more.
Why won’t these guys give it a break!
Play as various Spider-Man variations such as Noir Spider-Man, Ben Reilly Spider-Man (aka The Scarlet Spider), and many more!
56. The Amazing Spider-Man 2 (2014)
The Amazing Spider-Man 2 has some issues that are hard to avoid, but the devs tried hard to make it more appealing than film, which wasn’t hard to do…
Janky camera angles spoil the open-world feel, which is a shame as it could have been incredible.
57. Marvel: Contest of Champions (2014)
Want to fight against your favourite Marvel Villains and Heroes while on the go? Marvel: Contest of Champions is the perfect Mobile Game for pitting Spidey against Wolverine, Iron-Man against Nebula, and to find out who will become the greatest Marvel fighter of all time!
58. Marvel: Avengers Alliance Tactics (2014)
How many of you can remember playing Marvel: Avengers Alliance Tactics on Facebook back in the day. It wasn’t around long, but having the chance to work with allies or villains to stop the world from ending really beat doom-scrolling and seeing what Auntie Margaret had done on her holiday!
59. Spider-Man: Ultimate Power (2014)
Spider-Man: Ultimate Power feels like Spidey has jumped into a TMNT game. It’s side-scrolling brilliance, with players using all of the Spider-Mans tricks to defeat villains along the way. Plus, the graphics are really great for a mobile, definitely worth a download!
60. Marvel Future Fight (2015)
I don’t think that we’ll ever get tired of Marvel heroes and baddies fighting against each other. Honestly, we could play Marvel Future Fight every day and still experience something new.
Real time combat, massive battles with over 200 characters to choose from, and create a stronger team through training in special fights!
61. Marvel Mighty Heroes (2015)
Take Spidey and friends on a mission to save the universe once more. You can even play with your friends in real time too, picking from all the characters in the franchise from Hulk to Wraith and Lockjaw!
62. LEGO Marvel’s Avengers (2016)
LEGO Marvel’s Avengers is up next in this list of the all Spider-Man games in order, with over 200 characters to choose from!
Play as everyone from Luke Cage to Agent Carter as you play in all of the famous scenes from the Avengers movies. And as we’ve mentioned before, these games are super funny for gamers of all ages!
63. Marvel Avengers Academy (2016)
Did you ever consider that the Avengers might have had to train up through college? Marvel Avengers Academy allows players to build a campus the likes of which the X-Men could only dream of, training their favourite superheroes as students and working up to becoming the real deal!
64. Marvel vs. Capcom: Infinite (2017)
Marvel vs. Capcom: Infinite is the sixth Marvel vs Capcom game in the canon. We’ve gone back down to two on two battles now with players tagging in partners like the good-old WWE Tag-Team Battle days. Wield the Infinity stones to unleash devastating attacks on your opponents too and turn the tide of the battle!
65. Marvel: Avengers Alliance 2 (2016)
Spidey loves his mobile games, right? Marvel: Avengers Alliance 2 is the sequel to the short lived game that we played on Facebook back in the day and allows 3v3 battles with all your favourite heroes.
You’ll need to think tactically though; you can’t play this game while tired, otherwise you’ll end up throwing your phone out of the window of a moving train in frustration from being defeated continuously!
66. LEGO Marvel Super Heroes 2 (2017)
LEGO Marvel Super Heroes 2 sees Spiderman 2099 and Stan Lee joining the massive roster of LEGO Characters available to play as.
Time travelling items, famous faces from Captain Marvel to Bucky Barnes, and a multiplayer mode that will keep you busy for days on end. What more do you need to know?
67. Marvel’s Spider-Man (2018)
Miles Morales is such a cool dude, but my favourite Spider-Man game in this all Spider-Man games in order list and indeed my favourite Marvel game of all time is Marvel’s Spider-Man.
This isn’t Peter Parker starting out like back on the GameCube – this is Peter in his prime, Spider-Man in the peak of his career, as it were, and he’s an absolute crime-fighting power-house!
68. Marvel Strike Force (2018)
Marvel Strike Force could well be one of the best looking mobile games we’ve seen in a long Tim. Good guys and villains but team up to stop Ultimus from taking over the Earth.
Fight versions of yourself (and all the other heroes and villains) from another dimension and complete side-quests along the way. It’s time to fight for your world!
69. Marvel Super War (2019)
If you’re looking for a multiplayer online battle arena in the Marvel Universe, then look no further! Marvel Super War brings mammoth 5v5 battles with real-time action into the fray, with all your favourite heroes fighting side by side and against each other in a comic book Royal Rumble like no other!
70. Marvel Ultimate Alliance 3: The Black Order (2019)
Can you believe we’ve hit Number 70 in our all Spider-Man games list? Marvel Ultimate Alliance 3: The Black Order arrives on from the epic storyline of the second game in the series.
The formula hasn’t changed much in 20 years, but the adventure of our chosen Avengers nabbing the Infinity Stones from underneath the noses of the Black Order is definitely one you’ll enjoy again and again!
71. Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales (2020)
It’s time for Miles Morales to enter our all Spider-Man games list! Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales is a little short, but everything about this game is perfection. Swinging through this massive world, interacting with characters like never before – it shows what the PS5 can really do alright!
72. Marvel’s Avengers (2020)
You would think that Marvel’s Avengers would be an amazing game to play, but the truth is that it’s a little disappointing. It tries to do too much and doesn’t do any of it very well. The graphics are great, however, and Spider-Man’s moments are the best.
Thanks for saving the day once again, Peter!.
73. Marvel Snap (2022)
I know that Marvel Snap doesn’t sound like it would be an incredibly addictive game, but it is! It’s definitely the wild card in our all Spider-Man games list (definitely a card-based joke there) and collecting all the different variants of the heroes in game is incredibly exciting!
74. Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 (2023)
We’ve come to the last title Spidey title in our all Spider-Man games list at the time of writing, Marvel’s Spider-Man 2. Peter Parker and Miles Morales team up in this game, using all new skills like the Web Wings to take down enemies in NYC!
How Many Games Feature Spider-Man?
To date, there are 74 games that feature Spider-Man. That includes the inclusion of Spider-Man in Marvel Avenger’s games and all variants/film adaptations of Spider-Man.
How Many Main Spider-Man Games Are There?
There are 38 main Spider-Man games based solely on Spider-Man where players control him as the main character.
