An incredible looking new Game Boy title, Aaling the Ghost, has just launched an early support campaign on Kickstarter.
It is very good times for physical releases on the Game Boy, with my own game The Mayor of Sanctuary also available for pre-sale this month.
And it would seem that Incube8Games is also handling the physical release for the subject of today’s news.
Aaling The Ghost
I have been watching the progress of Aaling the Ghost for a while now. And from what I have seen on the developer’s social media, this is my most anticipated upcoming Game Boy title.
Weiwei Leung describes her game as “A story driven turn-based RPG for GameBoy Color featuring the adventurous journey of a ghost in a world never seen before.”
The screenshots shared on the Aaling the Ghost Twitter account give us plenty of incredible previews of this Chinese folklore inspired RPG.
The game will feature top-down exploration through a diverse and unique Chinese setting, and turn-based combat with an assortment of weird creatures.
We can expect a unique story full of characters and monsters unlike anything we’ve seen in a Game Boy title before.
From my experience developing a game for the Game Boy, I can tell you that Weiwei Leung has accomplished quite a lot of really unique features. And it will surely result in a pretty incredible game experience.
I cannot brag enough about how good Aaling the Ghost looks. And I highly recommend that you show this indie project some love and support.
Because with the community’s help, we can bring this original game project to reality.
There are quite a lot of ways to back the game on Kickstarter that range from a copy of the digital ROM on release all the way up to being a full co-producer of the project.
So check out the full list on the Aaling the Ghost Kickstarter to learn more about the many opportunities to help see this project to completion.
