If you've been excited about the news that Pokémon FireRed & LeafGreen is coming to Nintendo Switch this Pokémon Day, then this is going to blow your mind. There's a physical pack for FireRed & LeafGreen heading to Pokémon Center Online in Japan with glass Pokéballs in a display case.

The set is priced at £94/$127 and features a download card for the game in replica Game Boy Advance box packaging and a set of glass Pokéballs featuring Charmander, Squirtle, and Bulbasaur. These are 3D laser-engraved characters, and the base plate has coloured lights that reflect each Pokémons type. It requires nine AAA batteries to run - it's like being back in the old days of scouting down the back of the sofa to find batteries to play your Game Boy!
The bonus outer FireRed & LeafGreen packaging, boxes, and glass Pokéballs are the same for both bundles, whether you buy FireRed or LeafGreen - the only difference will be the download card for your chosen game.

Honestly, it would have been cool to actually have these as physical cartridges, but I suppose by keeping it download only, Nintendo are avoiding people selling the cartridges for extortionate amounts of money like people do with actual physical copies of FireRed and LeafGreen for the GBA.
These bundles are only available from Pokémon Center Online Japan and are limited to one purchase per person. Head there now to find out more!
