I'm always on the lookout for news on game demakes; having the Analogue Pocket to hand and the ability to upload homebrew games for playing on the go opens up so many new adventures, and the Retro Gaming Community is incredibly inventive when it comes to bringing newer games to older consoles and handhelds. I came across Shovel Knight Game Boy Edition this morning, and while it's not yet complete and only has a couple of screens to work through, it looks like it will be a fun little demake to play once completed.

The game is being developed by Carlos Snuki and is very much in the development phase. I'm not saying that to be cruel - there are literally just a few screens to move through and no enemies as of this point. Still, the Shovel Knight character looks good and moves well, and Carlos is working on bringing Attacks to the game soon.
Do I wish that Carlos had uploaded this when it was a little bit more finished? Absolutely, because I really want to play more and now I'm left feeling a little bit miffed that I can't. I think it would have been a good idea to wait and give the world a finished Demo to get them hooked just like with titles like Kero Kero Cowboy. Still, what little there is is a good start, and I'm looking forward to following Carlos' progress as he works on the game.
