Rugrats TV Comeback - CGI still

What Is Rugrats?

Rugrats is a cartoon series first aired on the kids TV channel, Nickelodeon. It brought joy to kids through the 90s and beyond, airing for thirteen-years between 1991 and 2004.

The programme follows a group of toddlers who, while appearing angelic in front of their parents, talk and get into all sorts of trouble once they leave the room.

Now, seventeen-years later, a CGI remake of the programme is heading to Paramount+.

How Many Rugrats Games Are There?

The Rugrats appear in 27 video games in total, and the series was insanely popular. I can remember playing on the PS1 games as a kid and loved them.

So did many fans of the cartoons too!

For 90’s kids, this news is epic, and the thought of taking Tommy, Angelica and the gang out for another spin in 2021 would be amazing.

When Is The Rugrats TV Comeback?

All we know is that Rugrats is making a comeback later on in 2021. It could be set for a Summer Holidays release, giving kids (and big kids) plenty of time to soak up the new CGI action.

The new look is really cool, giving the toddlers a fresh lease of life that sticks true to that Nickelodeon vibe. I wouldn’t be surprised if I saw some GAK splat kicking about somewhere in the background amongst a pile of 90s toys.

What Would A New Rugrats Game Look Like?

There are so many routes that a new Rugrats game could go down. Like Munchin Land for the PC, the new game might resemble a Mario Party-esque board game. Like the Temple of Gloom in Scavenger Hunt not he N64, the film may take on another ‘movie-theme’.

Maybe we’re about to witness ‘The Return of The Baby’, or ‘Angelica Wars: The Pant-wearing Menace’.

Even I’m disappointed with those names…

We’d be happy with remakes of Search for Reptar, Studio Tour, and Scavenger Hunt. Having those three fames in crisp 4K HD on the PS5 would be something seriously special and the perfect way to usher in the new age of Rugratdom.

Have any thoughts on the new Rugrats reboot? What would be the best game remake?
