Kess Entertainment has just announced an awesome new Sonic the Hedgehog themed board game, aptly named ‘Sonic Roll’.

This is an officially licensed Sega branded product featuring our favorite blue hedgehog, and we’re looking forward to jumping in with friends.

And if we can’t find any, apparently it can be played alone as well.

So let’s take a look at what to expect from this new analog Sonic experience.

The new Sonic Roll game is a 1-4 player experience, where you can take the roll of Sonic, Tails, Amy, or Knuckles. Your task is to crash your way through Badniks and Eggman through a variety of stages.

If you’re a fan of board games, this one appears to have it all – cards, dice, tokens. And of course… boards!

We’re actually impressed with the number of dice featured in the promo image. It’s certainly got our curiosity piqued and it surely plays on the pun of Sonic’s love of rolling.

From the few images we’ve caught on social media, there are a ton of modifiers and power-up cards as well. So this new game appears to have some depth to it.

Needless to say, we’re very eager to hear more info on the actual game play and ruleset.

I know we are a retro video game focused channel, but everybody needs a break from our digital devices and to see our friends in real life, and we’re happy to see more video game adjacent tabletop entertainment options out there.
