Initially shrouded in great mystery, the Lenovo Legion Go handheld now has a full specs list, release date, and pricing thanks to recent leaks by WindowsReport.
Some of the early confusion was due to the fact that the first leaked images were actually concept designs from the cancelled Lenovo Legion Play device.
So all we had to judge it by were a couple of images of the wrong device.
Thankfully, Lenovo actually had something pretty unique and exciting on the way in their new Legion Go handheld.
Something that could truly give the Steam Deck or Asus Rog Ally a run for their money.
Lenovo Legion Go
A full video promo for the Legion Go seems to have been leaked by Evan Blass aka @eveaks:
The promo delivers all of the expected gaming tropes, and we surely know what it looks like to play games on the go by now.
The detachable controllers are also something we’re quite familiar with in the Nintendo Switch.
So seeing the controllers in use detached from the device and the Legion Go on a table top with its massive kickstand is impressive, but not something new to us.
But we were particularly impressed when one of the players in the promo used the controller like a tabletop joystick. This was a pretty unique application of the detachable controller concept.
We also know that these controllers will offer many other unique opportunities for interactivity, since they come with so many different buttons, two scroll wheels, and a touch pad.
There was also a brief section featuring the AR Legion Glasses, which admittedly is something we’re not so interested in. But this is another feature on top of many unique features packed into this one device.
Some of the standout Lenovo Legion go specs include an AMD Ryzen Z1 Extreme processor, 8.8” QHD+ (2560 x 1600) display, and a 2-cell 49.2WHr battery with Super Rapid Charge.
A surprising detail that many were quick to focus on is the tremendous weight of the device, however.
The Legion Go is expected to come in at 854g (1.88lbs) with the controllers attached. For comparison, the super-sized Steam Deck comes in at 669g (1.47lbs).

Release Date and Pricing
The latest article from Windows Report asserts an anticipated September 1st announcement for the Lenovo Legion Go.
They also claim that the Legion Go will be available on October 1st for the retail price of $799USD.
Because many details about the Legion Go are still technically rumors, we have to consider them with a bit of caution.
But it is tough to doubt the leaked promo video as anything but the real thing from Lenovo.
All of the details we’ve heard, especially those Lenovo Legion Go specs, certainly have piqued our interests, and overall, the Lenovo Legion Go is coming in quite hot.
One thing is for certain; it can certainly give buyers an interesting alternative to the Steam Deck, ROG Ally, and AYANEO consoles.
