An incredible new Turok 3 Remastered has just been announced at Gamescom 2023, coming to us from Nightdive Studios.

When we learned that Atari had acquired Nightdive Studios, we worried they would not be able to complete their work on remastering the Turok trilogy.

As one of the top three on our list of the best Turok games, we were very eager to see it come to modern consoles.

Thankfully the Atari deal did not mean that Nightdive could not complete their many remasters already in progress.

The recent release of Quake II Remastered further confirmed we’d see a few more awesome releases from Nightdive before they switched focus to Atari IPs.

We learned that Turok 3: Shadow of Oblivion will be coming to the Nintendo Switch, Windows PC, PlayStation 4/5, Xbox One and Series X/S.

Much like the Quake II remaster project, we can expect a ton of modern upgrades and enhancements coming to Turok 3.

These include upscaled textures, new lighting, and advanced rendering effects like anti-aliasing, bloom, ambient occlusion, dynamic shadows, and motion blur.

There are also going to be platform specific features, such as 4K resolution and 120 FPS coming to the systems that can handle that output (sorry Switch users).

Trophies and Achievements will also be coming to PC, Playstation and Xbox users. Again, sorry Nintendo Switch users.

None of the modern enhancements will take away from that classic 90-00s first person shooter niche that Turok 3 sits comfortably in.

The game does show its age a bit, and that is part of the charm and appeal.

If you were a fan of the Turok series on the Nintendo 64, this is going to be a perfect return to form.

And we won’t have to wait too long for your shot of nostalgia, as the game is set to release on November 14th!
