New Delsta is a city of two sides: the glamorous elite and the shadowy backstreets, with its citizens in need of your help. One person in need is the wife of a gambler – if you’ve met her, then you’ll want to know how to solve A Gambling Man in Octopath Traveler II.

As you’ll hear from the distraught spouse herself, her husband is lost in a troubling cycle of gambling and losing. While listening to the wife’s tale, she’ll tell you that she’s certain proof of the Game Parlor’s illegal behaviour will stop her husband gambling.

But how do you get that proof? It’s super easy, so long as you’ve got the right team on hand to have a “little chat” with the Game Parlor’s Dealer.

If you want to know who you need, then it’s time to head into the seedy den of New Delsta’s underbelly. Or you can read my 10 best Octopath Traveler II beginner tips if you need a more general introduction to Solistia and its quirks.

Solving A Gambling Man In Octopath Traveler II

Go to the Game Parlor with Osvald and use his Scrutinize Path Action to uncover the truth. With the evidence in hand, return to the wife and show her the Truth of the Game Parlor.

Osvald is the most obvious choice for this side quest, however, Temenos’ Coerce Path Action will work, as will Castti’s Inquire.

If your level is too low, you won’t be able to successfully get the information. My advice would be to level up and come back to this quest later; when I completed A Gambling Man, Osvald was Level 19 and had an 84% chance of success.

After you’ve got the evidence, return to the wife during the day to give her the proof. She’ll show this to her husband and a touching cutscene will ensue where the husband promises to stop gambling.

You’ve done it, you’ve just learnt how to solve A Gambling Man in Octopath Traveler II!

I can’t guarantee the husband will keep his promise, but at least you’ve got peace of mind that you did everything you could. Do you fancy solving another side quest? Then read my guide on how to solve A Baby’s Coming in Cape Cold.

You could travel there using local, paid transport, but there’s an ever better way to travel: using your own ship.

Yes, you can learn how to get your own ship in Octopath Traveler II to become a sea captain of legend. There’s a lot of unique booty out there on the open water, just be careful of those aquatic monsters that guard them…!
