Fire Emblem Engage is filled with all sorts of different characters who can join your team. The problem is, some can be missed! This is why I’m going to show you how to get all optional characters in Fire Emblem Engage.

Although it’s great to get all 35 characters, you don’t need to in order to complete the game.

Still, while you don’t need them, having them will allow you to better adapt to any given battlefield. In fact, if you get all characters, you’ll be spoilt for choice!

Remember how we covered all Classes in Fire Emblem Engage? You’ll only get the most out of these Classes if you get all characters.

Now we’ve got that sorted, it’s time to begin our quest to get all optional characters in Fire Emblem Engage.

Some of these characters can only be obtained through side missions, known as Paralogues, while others can be obtained during the main story.

1. Jean

Jean is the first optional character in Fire Emblem Engage you can get.

During Chapter 6: The Stolen Ring, the Paralogue: Budding Talent will appear on your World Map – head there, win the battle, then talk to Jean.

2. Anna

Anna is a popular returning character, so if you don’t want to miss out on her, you need to play the Paralogue: Mysterious Merchant during Chapter 7: Dark Emblem.

3. Jade

Jade is an unusual optional character because you can miss recruiting her despite her appearing in the main story.

During Chapter 9: A Clash of Forces, you need to talk to Jade during or immediately after battle – if you don’t, she won’t join your team.

4. Seadall

Seadall, like Jade, demands you talk with them if they’re to join your team. During Chapter 15: Dancer in the Ruins, all you have to do is have Alear interact with them after battle.

5. Lindon

Once again, we come to another optional character in Fire Emblem Engage who can prove elusive, though this time it’s because Lindon first appears as an enemy.

To get him to join your team, Alear, Ivy, or Hortensia must speak with him during Chapter 18: The Cold Voyage.

6. Saphir

You’ll have got a glimpse of Saphir when you visited Brodia, however, you can’t recruit her until Chapter 19: The Dead Town. Just like with Jade, make sure to talk to Saphir and she’ll join you.

Now you know how to get all optional characters in Fire Emblem Engage. However, getting the remaining 29 characters is solely up to you (don’t worry, they automatically join).
