Everyone has their favourite Pokemon type(s) – for me, I’m a sucker for Grass Pokemon. It’s the main reason I chose Sprigatito for my starter. But for others their love lies with Electric types.

Pikachu is the obvious and most well known, which you can easily get by using the mystery gift codes in Pokemon Scarlet & Violet. However, for those looking for generation nine Electric Pokemon then you might want to get Tadbulb.

Categorised as an EleTadpole Pokemon, this small and adorable creature comes with either Own Tempo or Static as its ability. Whichever one you get, it’s a great tool to have in the midst of battle.

So, how do you get Tadbulb in Pokemon Scarlet & Violet? Let’s find out.

Where To Catch Tadbulb In Pokemon Scarlet & Violet

You can find Tadbulb in the wetlands of the North, East, West, and South Provinces of Paldea. One of the easiest locations is West Province (Area One).

Despite being 1’ in height, Tadbulb is easy to spot thanks to its yellow head. To make catching it even more convenient, it’s fairly common and so the likelihood is you’ll run into it while adventuring.

Other locations you can find it are:

  • South Province (Area Five)
  • South Province (Area Four)
  • East Province (Area Two)
  • North Province (Area Two)
  • Glaseado Mountain
  • West Province (Area Three)
  • West Province (Area Two)

We hope you find and catch one, if for nothing other than the painfully adorable Pokemon it evolves into: Bellibolt

How To Evolve Tadbulb In Pokemon Scarlet & Violet

To evolve Tadbulb into Bellibolt you need to use a Thunder Stone.

One of the easiest ways to get a Thunder Stone is to buy one from the Delibird Shops located in Levincia, Mesagoza, and Cascarrafa.

But keep in mind that Thunder Stones don’t unlock as a purchasable item until you’ve obtained three gym badges. So, if you need help taking on the Gym Leaders make sure to read the how to beat Kofu in Pokemon Scarlet & Violet guide

For a cheaper option, travel to the West Province (Area One) and look out for four windmills. At the top of one of them will be a Thunder Stone, free of charge.

Once you have the stone simply use it on Tadbulb to evolve it into Bellibolt. Just make sure you’re prepared for the cuteness overload! Now would be the perfect time to take a selfie by using our how to take selfies guide
