Charizard is by far one of the most popular Pokemon of the franchise, and even though many of the original starters are not featured in Pokemon Scarlet & Violet, it is in fact possible to get Charizard.
Charizard will undoubtedly strengthen your team as its both a fire and Dragon type, a mix up that isn’t very popular in this generation of Pokemon.
So, Brandon, show me how to get Charizard in Pokemon Scarlet & Violet!
How To Catch Charizard In Pokemon Scarlet & Violet
Charizard will appear in 7-star Raid Battles at black crystals between December 1st – 4th and then again between December 15th – 18th.
Charizard cannot usually be found or caught in Paldea, so use this event wisely as it may be a long time until it’s available again. Nintendo have stated that it “may be featured again in the future”.
The Charizard that will appear during this event has Dragon type as its Tera form, making it a formidable foe and one you need to add to your collection.
According to Nintendo: “This special Charizard can be caught only once per save data. You can still participate in Tera Raid Battles against this Charizard to obtain other rewads if you have already caught it”.
This special Charizard comes with the “Mightiest Mark”.
To take on Tera Raid Battles at black crystals, you will need to complete an event that is unlocked after you finish the game’s main story.
However, you will be able to join black crystal Tera Raid Battles without completing this event if you join another Trainer’s Tera Raid Battle when playing multiplayer, or if you join another Trainer’s Tera Raid Battle using a Link Code.
A paid Nintendo Switch Online membership is required to participate in Tera Raid Battles with other Trainers online.
If you want more rare loot, items and Pokemon be sure to keep an eye on the mystery gift codes in Pokemon Scarlet & Violet.
