Limited Run Games are back with an absolute corker of a title, the Contra Anniversary Collection, celebrating 35 years of one of the most influential side-scrolling shooters of all time.

Back in 1987, Bill Rizer and Lance Bean hit cabinets for the very first time, taking arcades by storm.
In 1988, they infiltrated our living rooms, giving us all the thrills and spills of the arcade from the comfort of our sofa on the NES and as part of the best Sega Genesis games.
Now, 35 years later, the action returns to next-gen consoles via the Switch and PS4 in three brand new collectors editions alongside a standard version of the game.
And you know what that means; different nerdalicious items to add to your shelves and gaming collections!
Contra fans can pre-order the new game from the Limited Run Games website from April 29th 2022. But be warned, as there’s only six-weeks to get your order in. Then you won’t be able to get your hands on it anymore!

Who are Limited Run Games?
For those of you that don’t know, Limited Run Games work hard to keep games alive in physical format on new consoles. They also bring select downloadable-only games to physical formats,and revive classic titles like Turok and Doom.
Now, they’re putting their hand to the Contra Anniversary Collection, shipping in three different packages; Classic, Hard Corps, and Ultimate.
What Comes With Each Package?
The Contra Anniversary Collection limited edition collectors packages come in exciting retro boxes. The classic comes with a CD soundtrack and a reversible poster, and the Hard Corps also comes with a deluxe clamshell case.
The Ultimate edition comes with the above and metal keychains featuring Bill & Lance, a hardcover book, framed picture, power-up pins, a flying capsule replica stand, and a sweet SteelBook Case.
In other words, the Ultimate edition is the way to go every time!
