ANBERNIC has been quiet for more than usual recently, likely because of the Chinese New Year, but it could also be because they're working on something special.
A leaker in the handheld space who also leaked a possible look at the upcoming TRIMUI Flip Handheld has shared a video of a new handheld with ANBERNIC logos, alongside showing staff in the video wearing ANBERNIC clothing.
This video shows a 1:1 handheld that flips up sideways, spinning the screen up 1080 degrees and revealing a gamepad underneath it to assist with retro gaming.
It's the first time I've seen something like this in the handheld space, and it reminds me of the old school Motorola Flipout phone that was released in 2010.
The video shared by user /Qinki001 on Reddit shows a device with a 1:1 display, showing Android Emulators, and with a push at the bottom, the screen will rotate/flip above the base of the handheld. Almost like a clamshell handheld, instead the screen rotates out and up like the old school mobiles of the 2000's.
I like that ANBERNIC are trying something different here, similar to what they did with the ANBERNIC Slide and I can imagine some handheld enthusiasts will like this in their collection. It's certainly going to focus on smaller forms of emulation, for example, GAME BOY, Game Gear, and Neo Geo etc.

On the back, you can see two small shoulder buttons, and for the life of me, I can't seem to figure out what the model is, due to the pixelation of the video. Let me know what you think it says in the comments below.
As of now, there is no official information on this device, but the video certainly looks like it's filmed around and/or with ANBERNIC staff, you can even see the staff working on other handhelds on their screens too.
This is an exciting one. I like seeing innovation in the space, especially in a pocket-friendly form. Now we just have to wait!
