One of the best metal retro handhelds on the market today is the TRIMUI Brick Hammer, a perfect Linux based handheld, crafted with a metal shell, a seamless UI and enough power to emulate games up to and including Dreamcast.

It's the perfect mix of portability and build quality, matched with a stunning display. It's a remarkable device that comes with me on a lot of adventures.

It originally started as a plastic handheld named the TRIMUI Brick, with a premium metal version launching a few months later, and still to this day they are updating it with new colours.

Today the TRIMUI team have informed me that they are releasing two new variants of the Brick Hammer.

They have revealed the Mystic Black version which looks perfect for those who dig an all-black EDC setup, and a Future Silver version, for those who love that raw metal/aluminium look which is always in fashion.

This will make it a total of 5 editions to choose from when they launch in the coming weeks. Internally nothing has changed, simply a new metal shell, with the same $129 price tag.

TRIMUI has not confirmed when they will release this nor do they have a listing on their website, but has offered one to Retro Dodo to take a look at, so if I had to guess they will likely be up for pre-order in the next few weeks, with a release date before Christmas.

These new colour ways will certainly please the minimalist handheld enthusiasts out there who have been waiting to snag one. For me personally, that all new Future Silver looks absolutely stunning.

More pictures and images coming soon when our sample arrives. Thanks TRIMUI for thinking of us.
