It's products like this that put a big, geeky smile on my face. I don't need it, absolutely not, but I wanted it, and the consumer in me took over my laptop.
I took the chance by ordering it from AliExpress, which, as we all know, can sometimes be hit and miss, especially when ordering from a company that I do not know.
The Trozk TP-09 Magnetic Wireless Charger cost me just £35 and was delivered within a couple of weeks.
When it arrived, I originally thought AliExpress sent me a VHS tape. Ahah, I knew it! I shouldn't have taken the risk, but to my surprise, the packaging itself was designed like a 90's VHS tape, with the battery pack on the inside.

It's the type of packaging that you don't want to throw away. Eventually forcing yourself to it many months later.
In hand, it's a chunky boy, due to the 10,000MAH battery on the inside, making it roughly 2cm thick. So, although it does attach to the MagSafe part of your smartphone, it's not one that would be comfortable accompanying your phone in your pocket, no. It's simply not thin enough.
And that's why I found this pairs well with my retro EDC sling, taking the throne from my AYANEO Battery Pack designed like a NES console.
The Design

It has quite obviously taken design inspiration from a traditional Floppy Disk, but has been forced to have a slightly more rectangular build to fit on your smartphone, and to maximise battery size.
It comes in an off-white design, with a tiny 0.66" HD digital dot matrix display that shares battery % and in/out power outputs.

It's a neat touch and activates when you attach or plug it into things, or there's a small sleep/wake button on the side to turn it on when not in use.
Around the display is the metal shutter, although plastic, and gives it the nostalgic look that we want to see. It cannot be moved.
On top of the shutter is a USB-C slot, which is to be used to charge it, and to also use externally to charge your devices if you want to use it cabled.

On the face where the Floppy Disk's sticker would be is a subtle bit of text designed to look like the sticker itself. A tick list of features that the TP-90 charger has, making it look even more like a traditional Floppy Disk.
If need be, you can add your name or number here using a sharpie and it will still look nostalgic.
The Charging Experience

Any good wireless MagSafe charger should be easy to use, and that it is. Even after being delivered, it had 75% battery, and it's as easy as snapping it onto your phone to begin charging.
My only real issue with this is that the Floppy Disk attaches upside down. I am not sure why it was designed like this, but I know it will annoy some of you design enthusiasts out there.

It's likely because they wanted the USB-C port to be as close to your phone's port, but this could have been designed to fix that issue.
It has a 22.5W faster charger inside alongside the mighty 10,000MAH's, allowing a full charge of a typical iPhone in about 90 minutes, which is pretty damn fast. 10,000 MAH can charge an iPhone 17 Pro 2.5 times over.
There's Internal Storage Too

There's a second edition of this charger that features an internal storage capacity of 64GB, and comes with an extra USB-C slot to use this as not only a battery pack but a portable storage drive too.
I do not have this variant, and it adds an additional £15 to the price tag, but that said, it adds an entirely new feature and a way to store photos, videos, documents and more easily, on the go.
Overall Opinion

- Fast 22.5W Charging
- Modern Features & MagSafe Attachment
- 0.6" Dot Matrix Display
- Thick When Attached To Smartphone
- Attaches Upside Down

It's a modern battery pack with easy-to-use features, MagSafe technology, and a 0.66" display, all wrapped up into a Floppy Disk design.
It's cheap too, coming in at around £35/$45, with free international shipping, making it a great, affordable gift for yourself, or other vintage PC users that you may know.
I am glad I found this, and my EDC Sling is too, because it just got that extra bit more nerdy.
