The crazy rise in Pokemon TCG collecting is not slowing down anytime soon and although modern sets are near impossible to buy due to scalpers, vintage cards are seeing more love than ever.

As of today Fanatics Collects sold a rare Bulbasaur card at auction for $200,000, making it the most expensive Bulbasaur card to exist.

This specific card is known as the "Snap Bulbasaur" a super rare, highly limited card awarded to the winners of CoroCoro's Pokémon snap contest in Japan in 1999.

Only 20 were produced, even less still existing, and even less graded and authenticated. This is the only PSA 9 version to exist and it has sold to a collector for $200,000 on Fanatics Collect, making it the most valuable Bulbasaur card to exist.

For those wondering, CoroCoro is a popular pop culture magazine, and during the 90's there was an array of Pokémon collaborations, featuring games, competitions, free cards and more.

This card specifically was incredibly rare and wanted by many collectors who search for the most limited cards known to exist. CoroCoro has an array of valuable Pokémon cards, but this Snap Bulbasaur is on a whole new level.

It also shows that there are collectors out there with an obscene amount of money, willing to spend that on pop culture products that will never exist again. How long Snap Bulbasaur will hold this title for is unknown.
