I like rare Pokémon stuff, there's no denying it. Recently, I picked up some rare 90's Japanese magazines that featured "GAME BOY Promotional Cards", which are now a part of my personal collection.
But sometimes, some obscenely rare items come up for auction that I never knew existed, the kinda stuff that probably should make its way into the publics hands, but here we are.
New retro-focused auction company InsertBid has hold of one of the only known original style guides for Pokémon, created in the 90's for staff members to better understand the design assets of the Pokémon, to keep all outgoing material (for video games, TV commercials and movies) in line and in uniform with this specific guide.

All copies were supposed to be destroyed after the meeting at Nintendo of America. This is the only known copy to have survived, according to InsertBid.
Details in this guide are immense, and it was built so early in the creation process of Pokémon that some names are different and have changed since this guide. Heck, even some of the early assets have no names as they came up with designs first, such as Mew, Mewtwo and even Ash Ketchum himself.
This piece came from a former Nintendo Employee that worked at Pokémon in the early 90s, states InsertBid.

A naughty employee at that, who didn't destroy it after being asked to. But who would, right? It feels like the scene where Frodo and Gollum fight it out in Mount Doom, trying to toss the ring in the fire.
But the employee's desire won, and now there's an opportunity to obtain one of the most obscene Pokémon collectables I have ever seen.
