In what will surely be a bit of curious news, Sonic Adventure and Sonic Adventure 2 are finally available to purchase on the Steam Store in Japan.
Familiar SEGA fans know Sonic Adventure and Sonic Adventure 2 as some of the absolute best Dreamcast games of all time.
The first entry in the sub-Sonic series released way back in 1998 to nearly universal acclaim. And its equally successful sequel released in 2001.
But if you prefer to keep your video game collection entirely in the white area, then maybe you picked up one of these classic SEGA titles on the Steam store.
Though Sonic Adventure and Sonic Adventure 2 have been available on Steam in the western market for over ten years, Japan has never seen the titles released for PC.
For those in Japan wanting to join in on the action, they would have to own a Dreamcast or Game Cube. Or they would have had to access the games via emulation.
It does seem strange to have waited 20-25 years to get one of these must-play entries in the Sonic franchise. But maybe there are a small number of people who have been holding out.
Steam Store にならない場合は、プレイしません。
(If it’s not on the Steam Store, I won’t play it.)
SEGA Japan made a public announcement that they will finally add these games to the Japanese Steam Store. But they would like for you to wait until next year for that to happen.
So if we have any Japanese readers out there – please stay strong. Only a few more months until you can finally enjoy some of the best Sonic games ever made.
