The TRIMUI Brick Pro was officially teased a few weeks ago by TRIMUI itself, only showing a silhouette of the device and LEDs around the two joysticks.

That's all they gave us, with some leaked images finding their way onto Chinese social networks shortly after. But none of these were images that I fully trusted, until now.

Our friends over at MechDIY, who we have worked with in the past and are known for selling retro handhelds and also getting units early to sell, typically at launch, have shared images with Retro Dodo.

MechDIY informed us that these are the images of the units they have received, showcasing a better look at the upcoming device.

What has surprised me is that these are plastic devices. Older leaks suggested and shown what look like metal shells, but these soon-to-be consumer units are in fact plastic.

It's likely they'll come out with a TRIMUI Brick Hammer Pro further down the line, but for now, it's quite literally a bigger, likely more powerful version of the original Brick with two concaved hall-joysticks.

I think this will do well if it can emulate up to Playstation 2 games, only because TRIMUI have always got things right in terms of design and user experience.

Consumers trust TRIMUI, and the original Brick was loved by many. It all comes down to price, as this area (verticals, with sticks and 4"+ screens) is very competitive.

The only known information we have from MechDIY is:

  • A larger 4-inch display
  • Dual analogue joysticks.
  • An Android-based system
  • And most notably, potential PS2 emulation support

We'll share more details when we receive them. Subscribe to our newsletter to not miss out. I have a funny feeling this will be officially revealed with specs and pricing over the next month or two.
