After weeks of announcements, teases and specification reveals GoRetroid has now officially opened up pre-orders for both the Pocket Flip 2 and the Pocket Classic.
GoRetroid have crafted some incredible devices in the past, many that feature highly in our best retro handhelds list, the original Flip was a great device, with some required tweaks, but the new Classic is a device form-factor that they haven't touched in many years.
The Flip 2 & Classic are jam-packed with high end specs, great resolution displays and likely their silky smooth user interface that makes exploring your retro games super easy.

The Pocket Flip 2 starts at $189 for the D1100 version, or $219 for the slightly more powerful SD865 variant. Prices rise by $10 after the early bird stage and pre-orders stop.
The Classic starts at $114 for the 4GB RAM variants, which is limited to two colour-ways or you can go for the 6GB version and choose between all colours. Again you'l get $5 for pre-ordering when compared to RRP upon "launch".

The Classic runs on Android 14 whereas the Flip 2 runs on Android 13, both featuring 5000MAH's of battery according to their spec sheets.
It's an interesting time to release devices like this, as I can imagine many of us already have a selection of handhelds that can do an array of emulation, but GoRetroid are attempting to create the best handhelds, with the best specs designed for true retro gaming emulation.
Could the Flip 2 be the best clamshell handheld for up to PS2 emulation? Maybe. Could the Classic be the best pocket friendly device on the market for $119? Time will tell.
I believe these will be great devices that will be used by many retro gamers for many years, however there's not much reason to go beyond this device. Will 2026 bring a stagnation to handhelds seeing as most of them can now emulate up to PS2 for $150 or lower in all different form factors?
Who knows. But let us know in the comments section about your thoughts, and which one you will be picking up!
