The UK is getting a really cool Pokémon event this month, held at the London Natural History Museum, inspired by the popular Japanese book "Pokécology: An Illustrated Guide To Pokémon Ecology".
It's a way to explore Pokémon's history in an experience focused on evolution, ecology and prehistoric Pokémon. It will undoubtedly be an incredible day out for adults and children who are fans of the franchise. I'm jealous that I missed out on tickets!
Pokémon kept quiet about a promotional card until after tickets to the event sold out, and if you ask me, that was the best way to handle it, as we all remember the absolute carnage that took place at the Van Gogh Museum back in 2023 when they announced a promotional Pikachu card.
Well, that exact Pikachu card was scalped to the pulp and is now selling on eBay for well over $1,000 in a PSA 10.

Pokémon has revealed that there is indeed a promotional card for this event, it's a jumbo card titled "Pikachu at the museum", it can be acquired at the pop-up store for visitors between January 26th and April 19th, but it will also be available at the Pokémon Centre UK website alongside other UK retailers with purchases on January 30th.
Pokémon has also stated: Products from the collection will also be available on the Natural History Museum’s online shop, which ships worldwide while stocks last.
It is unclear what products are selected and if the promotional jumbo card is a part of it. It's also unclear whever or not the promo card can only be acquired on one day (January 30th) online and at Pokémon Centre UK.
The Van Gogh museum sold the card online through multiple days, so it's possible they'll do the same. I am also hoping that Pokémon have learnt from their mistakes and have printed a much larger quantity of this card to stop scalpers and to give everyone a chance of acquiring it.
But only time will tell.
